DJI recently released the new O4 Wide Air Unit, and the first BNF tiny whoop to support it is the BetaFPV Meteor75 Pro II. In this review, I will check out how well this micro quad flies, what has changed from the previous version, and whether it is worth buying. Its explosive power genuinely surprised me—in a good way.

Design and Closer Look
New Canopy
The new Meteor75 Pro II looks quite different from the previous version. The camera canopy has been completely redesigned for the new DJI O4 Wide Air Unit.
Camera mounting has also been greatly simplified. There are no more tiny, fiddly rubber bands, which is a change I am very happy to see.
Instead, BetaFPV has soft-mounted the entire canopy. This approach makes more sense because soft mounting generally works better when there is more mass involved. In practice, it appears to work well at reducing vibration and jello in the footage.
The camera tilt angle is adjustable, although the adjustment range seems fairly limited. Even so, I found it perfectly adequate for both indoor and outdoor flying.
DJI O4 Wide Mounting
Installing the O4 Wide Air Unit was challenging.
Both the camera and VTX module are installed inside the plastic canopy, and the canopy is attached to the quad using only four rubber grommets. No screws are used.
This mounting system appears to be effective at minimising vibration and jello. On the previous design, only the camera was soft-mounted, and people were having mixed results because the camera alone was too light for the soft mounting to work consistently.
On the Meteor75 Pro II, the additional mass of the air unit and canopy appears to make the soft mounting much more effective.
However, inserting those tiny rubber grommets into the canopy holes is extremely fiddly.
If you can buy the Meteor75 Pro II with the O4 Wide pre-installed, I strongly recommend doing so. I would also avoid removing the canopy unless absolutely necessary.
Other Components
The rest of the quad, including the AIO flight controller and motors, are similar to the previous Meteor75 Pro, which has already proven to be a reliable platform.
I believe BetaFPV has also made some changes to the frame, although the differences are relatively minor.

Comparing It with the Previous Version
The Meteor75 Pro II is heavier than the previous model, mainly because the new O4 Wide Air Unit adds approximately 5g to the build.

Flight Performance
The previous Meteor75 Pro was already considered a heavy 1S whoop, so I expected the additional weight of the new model to noticeably affect flight performance.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it still flies.
Overall, the Meteor75 Pro II flies extremely well. Because it is still a tiny whoop running on a single-cell battery, it can wobble slightly in windy conditions. When there is little or no wind, however, it is impressively smooth and stable.
And if you get any minor vibration or wobble in your recorded footage, it can be removed in post using Gyroflow. I tested this, and the stabilized footage looked excellent, with no jitter or unwanted movements reported in our recent news: https://oscarliang.com/dji-o4-pro-gyro-stabilization-issue/
The Meteor75 Pro II hovers at around 28% throttle.
It does not have GPS, so I can only estimate its top speed. I would say it is capable of approximately 80–90km/h, or around 50–55mph. For a 1S quad, that is impressively fast.
It feels noticeably faster than the Flywoo Firefly18, which I estimate tops out at around 60–70km/h, despite being slightly lighter and using an open-prop design.
I believe the main reason is the taller, higher-performance 1102 motors on the Meteor75 Pro II. They make a huge difference in terms of power. The quad feels extremely snappy, agile, and much more responsive than I expected from such a heavy 1S tiny whoop.
However, that performance comes at a cost: it is very power hungry. If you fly aggressively and use a lot of throttle, expect only around 3 to 4 minutes of flight time per pack.
Despite its power, it is also very quiet. You can barely hear it from around 50 metres away.
It is an excellent park ripper—arguably even more fun than the Firefly18. It has so much power and speed, and its additional weight gives it enough momentum to be thrown around more like a larger freestyle quad, such as a 3.5-inch or 5-inch build, giving it more “inverted hang time”.
The prop guard also gives it an edge over the Firefly18. It makes it safer to fly around people and pets, more suitable for indoor use, and give you greater confidence when flying through tight gaps.
By comparison, the Firefly18 feels more like an outdoor cinematic cruiser. Because of its open-prop design, I would be more cautious about flying it close to people.
One important downside is that the Meteor75 Pro II has no physical beeper. The motors are also extremely quiet (DShot Beacon), so it can be difficult to find after crashing in tall grass.
Battery Options and Weight
BetaFPV recommends 3 battery sizes: LAVA II 1S 480mAh, 580mAh and 680mAh.

You definitely want to get batteries with high discharge rate, weaker batteries might make it less enjoyable to fly due to voltage sags.

For comparison, the Flywoo Firefly18 weighs 40.3g without a battery and 57.4g with a 1S 750mAh battery.

I was unable to get anywhere close to BetaFPV’s claimed flight times, even during relaxed cruising. It is possible that their results were measured while hovering indoors with no wind.
Although the 680mAh battery is relatively heavy, the Meteor75 Pro II handles it surprisingly well. I actually like how the quad flies with this battery.
The larger pack can deliver more current, which appears to benefit performance because the quad is so power-hungry. You can feel the extra weight in the air—there is more drag and momentum, and the quad slides more through turns, but it sustains aggressive manoeuvres and punch-outs better.
However, the 680mAh batteries are very long, and the quad’s battery lead is a bit too short. This prevents the battery from sitting properly centred in the frame, so it has to be pushed forwards, making the quad nose-heavy.
Unless you replace the battery lead with a longer one, I think the 580mAh battery is the best all-round option for outdoor flying.
For indoor flying, I prefer the lighter 480mAh battery, as the lower weight provides more precise control.
Custom PID Tune
The stock PID tune is good, but it is slightly too conservative for my taste and still has some room for improvement.

How to Setup
Firmware:
- The FC target is BETAFPVG473, and it came loaded with Betaflight 2025.12.5-alpha. The original CLI diff can be found here.
- Onboard ELRS receiver target is: BETAFPV 2.4GHz AIO RX, Firmware Rev 3.5.6
- ESC Firmware: Bluejay, 0.19, 96kHz (A-X-5)
Setup Steps:
- Bind the ELRS receiver – The best way perhaps is connect USB cable to the FC, wait 60 seconds until the receiver goes into WiFi mode (green LED flashes rapidly). Improvements You Can Make
If you have jello, you can try HQ triblade props (1.8×1.2×3) – they are smoother than the stock props, but slightly less punch.

For hardcore pilots, consider direct soldering motors to the FC board without using connectors. It’s not an easy modifications as the solder pads are tiny, but it offers several benefits:
- Less resistance, better performance (more power and more efficient)
- Prevents failure due to bad metal contact
Final Thoughts
The BetaFPV Meteor75 Pro II is one of the most powerful and enjoyable 1S tiny whoops I have tested in a while. Despite its relatively heavy weight, it remains fast, responsive, and surprisingly capable of aggressive outdoor freestyle.
The new canopy and soft-mounting system also appear to work well with the DJI O4 Wide Air Unit, producing stable footage that responds well to Gyroflow stabilisation.
Overall, the Meteor75 Pro II is an impressive tiny whoop and I can recommend it. The new O4 Wide provides an immersive field of view and image quality, and really elevates the flying experience.
