In this post we are reviewing the Arris D2205 2300KV motor for mini quad, giving it a close look and testing it on thrust stand comparing the result to RCX SE2205 and Cobra 2204 motors.
The Raptor ESC’s have been on the market for some time now. Let’s take a look at how they perform compared to the Littlebee 20A we have.
PDB (power distribution board) is used widely in mini quads, they make builds much simpler. This Arris PDB has dual BEC (5V and 12V) and LC-filter built in. What’s interesting is the integrated OSD that can overlay vital flight data: for example timer, voltage and mAh used from current sensor. It can also be used as a convenient tool for PID tuning in the field.
I was having a tough time deciding what parts to put into this frame. I have always wanted to build a mini quad that runs 20A ESCs and 6045 props on 4S, for some serious speed. However the Arris X-Speed 250 frame comes with a PDB that can only handle 40A of current. That means I will have to modify the PDB to add the extra capacity, e.g. adding additional power wires.
