Soldering The GY80 IMU

by Oscar

Frankly I am getting rusty at soldering, last time I soldered was about 10 months ago? Not to mention these chips are way smaller than I thought which made it even harder.

The 10DOF GY80 IMU finally arrived this weekend. Right away I put the soldering iron on, soldered connector pins and tested it make sure all 4 sensors are working.

But I am getting it back quite quickly after some practice. you can see I soldered the red chip first, it looks pretty bad (although it works :-p). And later I did fairy good job on the blue chip (GY80 IMU).

Tested, all working fine with the Arduino UNO. I will put together a guide on wire connection and code for testing it tomorrow. Turned out I don’t need the logic level converter after all! It has this device built-in already.
