Build and Design
Not much I can say about the Pavo20 Pro Nightfire Edition, as it’s almost identical to the standard Pavo20 Pro, except it comes with an RGB LED strip and LED controller board. The multicolor LEDs offer multiple lighting modes, making the drone perfect for night flying. If you’re unfamiliar with the standard Pavo20 Pro, check out our detailed review here: https://oscarliang.com/betafpv-pavo20-pro/.
- Frame: The sturdy carbon plate base with cross braces adds stability, improving flight performance and crash resistance.
- Prop Guards: Injection-molded guards integrate the LiPo battery holder for seamless design and durability.
- Motor Configuration: Lava 1104 7200KV motors in a pusher setup, paired with custom Gemfan 2.2″ props for efficient, smooth flights.
- Camera Cage: Injection-molded with built-in brass threads for secure installation, compatible with DJI O3 Air Unit, Caddx Vista, and Runcam Link.
The drone weighs just 116g with LED strip and DJI O3 (excluding the battery), ensuring it remains under 250g. The custom 2.2″ 2218 triblade props, developed in collaboration with Gemfan, are optimized for this drone and can be purchased here: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DFaYkp7
Battery Recommendations
BetaFPV suggests using their LAVA 450mAh or 550mAh 3S LiPo batteries, which fit snugly into the provided holder. The 450mAh option is great for lightweight builds, while the 550mAh pack offers extended flight times. The weight difference is actually quite small between these two (around 4g), so I’d recommend getting the 550mAh for more flight time.

Flight Performance
BetaFPV advertises up to 6 minutes 40 seconds of flight time under ideal flying conditions. However in real-world scenarios, expect around 5 to 5.5 minutes using a 3S 550mAh. Despite its small size, the Pavo20 Pro is also flyable in calm outdoor conditions, though not going to be as good as larger aircraft though due to the smaller size.
The RGB LED strip is a standout feature, adding flair to night flying. Unlike the single-color LEDs on the standard Pavo20 Pro, the Nightfire Edition’s multicolor lighting makes it visually striking in low-light conditions, but it adds 8 grams to your quad.
Final Thoughts
The BetaFPV Pavo20 Pro Nightfire Edition is an excellent cinewhoop for pilots looking to explore nighttime and indoor flying as well as racing. The RGB LED strip is a nice addition, though it adds about 8g to the overall weight. If you prioritize performance over aesthetics, the standard Pavo20 Pro might suffice.
There are only 1,000 units available, if you are interested, act quickly before it sells out. You can get the Pavo20 Pro Nightfire Edition from BetaFPV: https://oscarliang.com/product-tfus
