The Stealth Race and Long Range VTX’s are FuriousFPV’s latest 5.8GHz video transmitters. They have a lot of the same features as the TBS Unify Pro, and you can even configure them from your SmartPhone via Bluetooth! We will compare the different features between the two models.

What’s Special about FuriousFPV’s Stealth VTX?
The FuriousFPV Stealth is the only VTX on the market that can be configured on a Smartphone APP through Bluetooth (available on Android and iOS). However, please note that the Bluetooth module has to be purchased separately: http://bit.ly/2IcL7Gm.
I really like the fact that both VTX’s has a built-in 5V BEC for powering your FPV camera directly. Together with the built-in LC filter, this will ensure clean video even when powered directly from LiPo.

Differences – Race and Long Range Versions
As the names suggest, the Stealth Race is designed for Drone Racing, while the Long Range version is for freestyle and long range flying.
Firstly the Stealth Race is the lighter of the two. The form factor is also much smaller so it will fit more easily in tighter builds. However the downside is it can only output up to 200mW, while the Long Range version can do up to 700mW. As we know from our VTX Buyer’s guide, that nearly 4 times higher output power means the “long range” can have nearly double the range as the Race version on paper.
Stealth Race:
The Stealth Long Range VTX has a built-in Microphone so you can put on an earbud and listen to the motor noise during flight. It also has the RGB LED strips control feature built in, with the Smartphone APP, you can choose lighting pattern and color etc.
Stealth Long Range:
Frequency Limitation on Stealth Race
Note that bands and channels on the FuriousFPV Race VTX is limited to 5725MHz and 5866MHz. This means channels outside of this range are unavailable. For example, on Raceband, only channel 3 to 6 are available.
However this doesn’t apply on the Long Range version and you will get all the channels.
Unusable without Bluetooth or Tramp Telemetry?!
It’s really a PITA trying to change settings using the only button on the VTX. And there is only one LED for indication which blinks really quickly and hard to see what configuration you are actually on.
Looking at the manual from the Stealth Race, I felt like I was in a maze… I looked at the blinking LED and had no idea which block i am at… Similar situation with the Long Range…
If you want to get these VTX, you should get the Bluetooth module too so you can play with the settings on the APP from your phone. The App appears to be user friendly and well designed.
You can also just use Tramp Telemetry for VTX control if you don’t like using the Bluetooth app. Just don’t expect you can easily change settings using just the button… it’s very frustrating.
