What is Betaflight OSD?
Betaflight OSD (on screen display) is an integrated component/feature in Betaflight flight controllers that shows important flight data on your FPV feed, such as battery voltage, current draw and much more.
You can even use it as a menu to change your quad’s PID, rates, filters and other settings. This article will go into what Betaflight OSD can do, and how to setup it up.
George Chatzisavvidis is very kind to share with us how he enabled OSD menu for the Fatshark Diversity module and goggles button support, by adding a minimOSD.
Recently I tested the RE1 F4 FC and mPB (PDB) from BrainFPV. When I looked up the FC/PDB combo, I found several ads stating that the RE1 is the most advanced racing flight controller ever made! Wow that’s a big statement, guess we will find out in this review.
PDB (power distribution board) is used widely in mini quads, they make builds much simpler. This Arris PDB has dual BEC (5V and 12V) and LC-filter built in. What’s interesting is the integrated OSD that can overlay vital flight data: for example timer, voltage and mAh used from current sensor. It can also be used as a convenient tool for PID tuning in the field.
