Updating firmware for the DJI FPV system cannot be easier, in case you haven’t read the manual you should find this tutorial useful :) The steps are exactly the same for the DJI FPV Goggles, Air Unit and Remote Controller.
If you are new to the DJI FPV system, here is my tutorial on how to setup for the first time.
Launch the program DJI Assistant 2 on your computer (download here if you haven’t already).
Plug in battery to power on the device.
Connect it to your computer via a USB-C cable.
DJI FPV Goggles:
DJI Air Unit (Full Size):
Caddx Vista Air Unit:
An icon should appear in DJI Assistant 2, click it.
Click Firmware Update on the left menu and choose the latest firmware version. Click Update, and wait until it’s complete. Firmware downloading and flashing should take around 10 minutes or longer depending on your internet speed.
Make sure to do this in a well ventilated area so the Air Unit doesn’t get overheat and shut down during updating.

Can I activate vista without antenna ?
My vista connect from FC but not green or red light on. The seller said that I didn’t install the antenna and it was damaged my vista. Is that true?
You must have the antenna installed when powering the VTX or it will overheat.
I have a new Cinewhoop with a Caddx Polar Vista unit and it will not connect to the DJI FPV Assistant. I thought it could be a bad air unit, so I bought another, and the second unit is doing the same thing. I make sure it’s connected to power before connecting the USB and it’s still not recognized… Any thoughts? thank you!!
DJI support is SHIT
EFFIN PISSES ME OFF
This is why people walk away en’ mass when something comparable arrives on the market…
I’m trying to update the goggles and during the ‘Transmitting’ phase the progress indicator will not go above 0% and then it times out with error code: 5-100-4. Ok great I have an error code… I can just look up that code and find out wtf is going on right? NOPE. No references to error codes anywhere. Ok np I can just search youtube or some forum or NOPE.
The same thing happen to me when trying to activate the air unit. I’m assume mine over heated and shut down like you said… but what happens if THAT happens? I’ve tried it many times later on in the day after letting it cool but now it won’t even connect to my computer at all. Just keeps connecting and disconnecting but not popping up at all on dji assistant. Now what should I do?
can you advise if all devices eg goggles, tx and vista air unit have to be on the same firmware ver,?? just got a new vista with latest firmware but my goggles and tx are running a slightly older firmware version
I tried this in the past, normally you would get a warning on the screen when you start up the goggles if the versions don’t match, but it should work. But some features might not work, it’s best if you update them to the same firwmare.
I am getting transmitting failure error. Any advice? Thank you
Maybe you should contact DJI support, sounds like a hardware issue to me.
We are updating the dji fpv air unit , it’s succesfully downloading and transmitting but around at 50% of the updating process the message shows usb device not recognised the update goes till 95% and stops . Please help on how to proceed further thanx
Sorry I have not encountered this problem before.
Maybe the Air Unit is overheating? Try to get a fan blowing during update.
Its been 7 months since they have the 50mbps update. Why don’t i have the the update show on my DJI Asistance???
My goggles and DJI FPV drone both get an updating error during this. Any ideas?
what error are you getting? (what does it say?)
