My review of the Jumper T16 Pro radio.

T16 Switch Nuts

Switch nuts for the T16 should have an inner diameter of 5.8mm, with an outer diameter < 10mm ideally in order to fit the centre two switches.

These are the ones I used (buy: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeSVnF9), and they are wider than 10mm. That’s why for the two centre switches I have to use the original switch nuts (silver).

Switch Sleeves

You can use the exact switch sleeves for the Taranis X9D+, that’s what I am using anyway.

T16 Gimbal Stick Ends

The gimbal sticks have 3mm diameter threads, so when choosing stickends, you should get the M3 ones. Both hall sensor gimbals, and non-hall gimbals have M3 threads.

Here are a couple of different options:

Back Stand

The back stand is from my old X9D Plus. It does seem to be a little too short for the T16, but it still kind of works as a stand. I still cannot find one that is designed for the Jumper T16, so this is the best I can find right now. It also acts as a protector for the external module on the back.

Available color: blue, silver and black.

Where to Buy?

3D Printed Back Plate

You can replace the original back plate with these 3D printed ones, they provide much better grip.

I will update this post when I have other upgrade parts.

I’ve been flying around a lot of buildings and I lose signal from my drone. Do you recommend any antenna upgrades?

Hi,
your first link on stick ends is about 2.5 sticks end and not 3.0.
i’ll like to ask you how did you put 2.5 gimbals stick ends on the jumper because it’s 3mm and not 2.5 on the specs. Did you have any adaptator like in your image?
I already order them because they were better than the other.

great reviews!!

I am sorry you are correct, it should be M3, not M2.5 i linked the wrong product, and I’ve corrected it.
Please check if you can get a refund/replacement with the right ones. Apologies again!

For reference, I am asking about the next step above a t16 pro hall gimbal or a X9d se hall gimbal. I see radios for $1,000+ dollars, I have to imagine they are using improved gimbals compared to the set for the jumper I can replace for $25-35.

I’m curious, I have seen multiple people talk about radio upgrades and no one mentions the radio gimbals. Are there not higher quality/higher sensitivity radio gimbals that can be easily replaced? Just seems like the biggest improvement could be to the two sticks you are using constantly, but I’ve never seen it discussed.

Thanks-Jason

Well, the hall sensor gimbals in the T16 Pro is currently the best ones you can get for the T16.

There is a custom carbon looking front plate in change for the silver one.
Example:a.aliexpress.com/N8vw4q64
But it looks like a lot of work to change ;-)

Does anyone know what kind of gimbal protectors fit the T16?
Also, is there any protective case made kinda like the fatshark goggle protective case, but for the T16?

Thanks.

The ones for the Taranis fits just fine.
As for cases, i used the one for the X9D+ SE, just need to cut the foam for extra room, works great.
