VTX Controls such as Smart Audio and Tramp protocol are no longer working out of the box since Betaflight 4.1. You now have to configure VTX tables first for your particular video transmitter depending on the protocol it uses.
If you don’t setup VTX Table, you won’t be able to change channel, band or power. Your VTX will be stuck on a random channel if you’re using SmartAudio or Tramp. Also Betaflight will lock your output power at 25mW.
Table of Contents
What is “VTX Table”?
VTX Table is basically a table of frequencies your VTX is allowed to transmit on. You can set this in the “Video Transmitter” tab in Betaflight Configurator.
If you are new to this you’ll probably find it annoying and confusion. At least I did, but there are reasons behind this change.
In the past, everything was pre-configured so you didn’t have to do anything. But starting from Betaflight 4.1, channels and power levels have to be set manually.
You now have to know what channels and power levels your VTX supports in order to set it up correctly. And you also have to beware of what frequency and power levels you are allowed to use according to your local regulations. If you break the laws, Betaflight is clearly not responsible now as you set it up yourself, I guess it’s one of the reasons for VTXTables.
But looking at the bright side, you can only keep your favourite channels and bands and remove all the ones you don’t want, making it very customizable.
If this is too much for you, and you can’t be bothered, just use one of the older BF versions and forget about it :) Otherwise, here is how to set it up, it’s actually not that hard!
How to Set VTX Table?
There are 3 ways:
- Video Transmitter Tab in the configurator
- Load JSON file
- Copy and paste in CLI
You can manually enter all the values in the Video Transmitter tab, I do not recommend this as it’s time consuming and easy to make mistakes.
Some VTX manufacturer might provide you with a configuration file (JSON) that you can simply load via the Betaflight configurator (Video Transmitter tab). Easy.
You can also just copy and paste the code in CLI, which I personally prefer. In case you cannot find the right JSON file for your VTX, the CLI method is useful as you can edit the VTX table from a similar VTX. I will show you how below.
Set VTX Table from Presets
Since Betaflight 4.3, you can now use the Presets tab in the Betaflight Configurator, and load the VTX table of your particular VTX. It will save you time searching for it on the internet.
Copy and Paste into CLI
It would (probably) work for most VTX to just copy and paste one of following VTXTables snippets to the Betaflight CLI. Note that these tables contain all the channels (it might contain illegal channels for your region).
All you need to know is which VTX control protocol your VTX is using.
Tramp is easy, there is only one template you need to copy. However it gets slightly more complicated with SmartAudio as it has several different versions: V1.0, V2.0 and V2.1. Here is a quick guide on how to tell which SmartAudio version you have.
Quick tip: pretty much all third-party VTX’s that use SmartAudio has V2.0, as well as TBS Unify Pro. The newer TBS Pro32 VTX and EVO use V2.1. V1.0 almost doesn’t exist anymore. Anyway, it’s best if you confirm that for your particular VTX.

Customizing VTXTables for Specific VTX
You can, and you should customize VTXTables for your particular VTX in order for Betaflight VTX control to work properly.
Setting a frequency to 0 will remove that channel – this ensure you don’t accidentally transmit on an illegal frequency, or channels that you don’t want to use.
You can change the powerlevelsnumber (the number of power levels), powervalues (the values of power levels in dB) and powerlabels (the values of power levels in mW) as those are VTX specific values.
I have not tested all of these VTXTables, try it anyway.

Hey Champion.
Rush Tank Solo, 4th power level isn’t 36, it’s 30 (1W6, which is more like 2W4 when measured).
This can be confirmed when setting to 30, side button power indicator sits at solid red indicating peak output. If this is changed to 36, it sits at a light purple indicating minimum power output due to incorrectly configured tables.
Hi, please I need help with a PandaRC 5804 HV vtx
Me too. i have trouble with vt5804 bat lite
are the rush tank vtx Tables upto date? for context im doing vtx table presets for BF
Thankyou I get a lot out of your information

Hello. Thanks for adding rush solo. It power decibel values differ from what i saw on other places. max power value code.
Thank you so much. Without you, I would have stuck in VTX settings forever.
Thank you as always for your help! ????
th3 factory switch for rush tank mini will not display on my betaflight vtx tab
Hi Oscar, would the above also work on the TBS unify pro 32 HV?
Thanks for the great information. Very useful.
I have noticed a slight error in the RUSH TANK SOLO VTX table.
The db value for the 1W6 power LEVEL should be set to 32, not 31 as shown in the table.
SA will not trigger the MAX power level if anything less than 32 is entered.
32db = 1600mW
I concur to this. 36 is not right. For rush tank solo is 32 to execute the 1w6. Thanks for solving my problem brader
Hi Oscar, noob question here, how do I get the VTX power level displayed on my FatShark OSD. I’ve got the VTX power working on a switch on my tx16s, but it’s not being displayed ont he osd. Thanks very much.
Could you please do a VTX table for the rush tank solo, please?
done! just added to the page.
The values you entered are not good for Rush Tank Ultimate Plus VTX (14 23 27 29). These are good: 0,1,2,3
How to set up the vtx table and UART for the RTC607 vtx module?
Hi,
I have the Emax tiny hawk 2 ( no race no free style) pusher config.
I am trying to set the VTX but I am not sure if it is smartaudio or trump ( in order to load the right VTX tables).
I went to Black Box and the debug on sensors to find the smart audio version But the first debug value was 208??‘
It supposed to be 200 for smart audio 2.0 or 210 for smartaudio 2.1. So , does 208 means Tramp? And I should use the Tramp VTX table on Betafligjt (latest version ) ?
I think the power levels are off on the Rush Tiny Tank in this article and the review of the Rush FPV products. Rush uses SA 2.0 unlocked (216) so the power levels should be 0,1,2,3 instead.
Yes it seems confusing when looking for info online. My RUSH Tank Ultimate Mini returns 216 as SA value in debug 0, according to BF wiki that should be SA 2.0 unlocked. The link to the YT video on same wiki page is out of date i assume as he mentions values 200 is SA 2.0, and 210 is SA 2.1. Wiki says otherwise. Probably the diff from BF4.1 to 4.2….. getting too old for this Version sh*t
I’m having an issue with PitMode on a RDQ Mach3. On my TBS VTXs, I have a switch set in the modes settings to put the vtx in pit mode. It works well on the TBS units but on my Mach3s, I’m having no luck. I’ve used the proper and correct VTXTables for the Mach3 (SA 2.0) but sill no dice. I bet I could get to pit mode through the button press menu but that’s beyond the scope of my issue. Any ideas?
Hey, could you add support for:
TBS UNIFY PRO32 NANO 5G8 VTX v1.1 (power increased to 500mW), SmartAudio 2.1
is the method to add a vtx table also applicable to using speedybee since it uses the cli interface?
adapter 2 rocks if so.
Yes, it should work :)
I have a TBS Unify Pro Nano, I select and copy the VTX table as directed from Betaflight, but on clicking “load from clipboard” it crashes the screen. I have to exit and reload (to the old settings). It’s driving me crazy. SmartAudio does work (I can change frequency etc), but the values are incorrect. Any clue?
Would you mind doing the Holybro Atlatl Hv V2? Thanks!

omg thank you so much. I tried to get my eachine tx805 working, i did all I could but this article saved me
Rush Tank Ultimate Plus please.
VTX table in my review: Review: Rush VTX Lineup (Tank, Plus, Race, Mini, Tiny)
Do you have a vtx table for the Holybro Atlatl HV v2? IIRC you reviewed it some time ago
Yo man some of the Nano vtx’s from eachine have an issue with timing and don’t work with any vtx table. There is a thread on it on the github but yeah figure you or anyone else reading this should know!
I have a question regarding AKK VTX’s.
I understand how to set up VTX Tables and such, my question is;
Do some or all AKK boards that use SmartAudio 2.0 and the power level selection process using 0, 1, 2, 3 as the values to select from four power levels, for instance, use the value 0 (zero) to select Pit Mode?
I ask this because my AKK board has four power output levels, I set it up expecting 0 (zero) to select 25mW. When 25mW was extremely under powered, I thought that I had received a faulty VTX. Recently a person mentioned to me, whilst taking about somebody else’s VTX setup, that 0 (zero) selects Pit Mode in Race VTX’s… I didn’t get to discuss anymore. It opened up the question in my mind of whether AKK use the values 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 for a four power output VTX?
0 (zero) for Pit Mode and 1, 2, 3, 4 for the four power levels?
I notice some people question the AKK power labels.
Asking if 120 should be 1200 or 1.2
The Power Labels are just that, Labels.
More precisely; three character labels.
That’s why 120 probably cropped up. 1200 will of been input somewhere, maybe a CLI paste and one off the zeros got clipped because that label can only hold three characters.
So; 1.2 is the best way to label 1200mW.
Hey Oscar.
I also noticed that for AKK vtx power you providing this values: 25, 200, 600, 120 .. is that correct? As far I understand betaflight description it shouldn’t be 1.2 for 1200mw.. I set my as 1.2 and it feels like it’s not as strong signal as before on BF4.0.. I’m flying the same quad in the same park but noticed weaker video signal.. am I wrong with setting my value as 1.2 ? Should I put 120?
Rush tank ultimate smart audio is working for me all but pit mode. I cannot get pit mode to control through the sa menu? Something configured wrong?
Thanks Oscar alway provide an usefull information.
i have Iflight succes Mini VTX set all good.
I’ll be able to change channel and frequency, butvthe powet output is not the coreect 1,even we chosoo 500mw on BF when check on osd in th Tramp Protocol only show 25MW and can’t be change through OSD.
Only manage to get it work that change manually by Button.
Any 1 experience this before.
STABLE PRO F7 5.8g 500mW VTX with Tramp thanks Oscar!
I’d love to have the rush tank mini ultimate tab!
TAKE CARE, I Thing there is a Bug with eachine VTX. Yes, you can change the channel, but in differentes models , the power output change at the same time to the 25mw.
With tx805 and TD600 only with beta 4.1
Any sugerencias suggestion?
thank you!
Rush tank. Thanks. Appreciate the info.
AKK x2 ultimate if it;s any diffrent and TBS unify pro HV pelase :)
Great source of information as always. I wish to point out AKK code “vtxtable powerlabels 25 200 600 120”. Should not be “1200” instead of “120” ?
For the life of me, I can’t get my 5.8G SucceX Mini 500mW VTX set up on 4.1. I used a VTX table that I made and it seems to work in the configurator. I can change settings and they seem to take effect, but though the OSD it’s all dashes, and nothing saves. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Great resource – thanks. Any intel on how pit mode works? I have a TBS Nano and when I move the slider in the confi page, it does not ‘stick’ and turn off.
Furious Stealth race
Great document. Personally I miss Eachine TX06 and Trashcan stock :)
Very useful Information. If you happen to know the following 2, I will appreciate it:
TBS Unify Pro
Eachine TX805
just added them!
